The Metal Men find themselves trapped inside a miniature circus within a glass globe, forced to perform for an alien clown's amusement. Their predicament began days earlier when, still dealing with faulty responsometers that caused them to lose control of their abilities, they were shunned by the public after several well-intentioned acts went disastrously wrong. When a group of clowns helped rescue their poorly received performance, the Metal Men discovered too late that the clowns weren't human—one pulled out a weapon that miniaturized the team, trapped them in the crystal globe circus, and transported them to an alien world where they're expected to entertain their captors for eternity.
