WHAT "SELL" AND "SHARE" MEAN UNDER CPRA

The CPRA defines “sell” broadly: any disclosure of personal information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. It defines “share” as disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising — even without payment.

FindMeComics does neither. Your data goes only to the providers in our processors table, which names the terms each one works under. Stripe and Cloudflare act as independent controllers for part of the data. Upstash and EasyPost are covered by a published privacy policy, not a data processing agreement. The table also marks the agreements still being put in place.

Two things load from outside that table. Some catalog covers load straight from the site that hosts them, such as Metron, Open Library or Google Books, and that site sees your IP address the way any image host does. Podcast players are the other. Episode picks can play from Megaphone or YouTube, and neither player loads until you agree. Once one loads, that service collects data under its own policies: Megaphone's player brings Google Analytics, Google's advertising tags and an eXelate pixel. See Privacy Policy § 12.

GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL (GPC)

We recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out signal under 11 C.C.R. § 7025. Because we already do not sell or share personal information, the signal has no additional practical effect. If you have GPC enabled, your preference is noted and we will not commence any sale or sharing activity without first honoring it.

SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect date of birth solely to verify that you are 18 or older as required by our Terms of Service. It is used for no other purpose and is never sold or shared. We check your age and discard the date without storing it (see retention schedule). Under CPRA § 1798.121 you have the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information; our use is already so limited.

SUBMIT A WRITTEN CONFIRMATION REQUEST

Although no opt-out is required (we don't sell or share), California residents may request written confirmation of this under § 1798.120. We will respond within 45 days.

Authorized agents: An authorized agent may submit on your behalf with written proof of authorization. We may verify your identity directly.
