The Metal Men receive fan mail suggesting names for Tin's robot companion, but they also discover a threatening letter addressed to Doc Magnus from someone called BOLTS. When the letter explodes and injures Platinum, the team vows to protect their creator. Doc receives an invitation to a robotics exhibition, which the Metal Men suspect is a trap, but he insists on attending alone. Doc is kidnapped by a giant rogue robot leading BOLTS, forcing the Metal Men to mount a rescue mission against this powerful new enemy.
