Dr. Magnus and the Metal Men respond to a series of attacks by mysterious corrosive beams erupting from the ocean that threaten ships and aircraft. During the rescue efforts, Lead is severely damaged by the beams. When several Metal Men destroy themselves out of shame for their failures, Magnus must reconstruct his team while investigating the source of the attacks. Magnus and the remaining Metal Men trace the threat back to its ocean source, where they discover a dangerous chemical creature with plans to transform the entire world.
