Archie can't take Betty to the carnival as promised, due to a case of poison ivy. So he sends Jughead in his place. At a Cooper family reunion picnic, Betty's Aunt Ida remarks that she never thought Betty and Archie were really a compatible couple. A wild bird gets into the Cooper home and Betty wrecks the place trying to catch it. Betty struggles through a lethargic day.
