Pyro and Avalanche kidnap Dr Adler, since everyone seems to be interested in him. They're surprised to find out that it's actually Mystique, and that the real Adler was apparently destroyed by Apocalypse. Rogue, Cable, and Cyclops and Jean Grey all arrive and participate in a struggle for "Adler"'s life. During the fight Cable falls down from a cliff, seemingly to his doom. Jean Grey falls, too, but is saved by Rogue, who decides that she needs her powers, even if they make her alienated. Warren Worthington arrives and asks "Adler" for help. Apocalypse orders Mystique to transform Warren into his slave, and claims that he will destroy the world.
