Twenty-eight issue series, pencilled by legendary artist Steve Dillon. This series also features some of his last artwork as he unfortunately passed away some months after the start of this series. After issue 17, the Marvel Legacy event starts, in which all of the issues of the previous volume's of (The) Punisher are counted together, making the 18th issue the 218th in total. Strangely enough, the ongoing Marvel Knights Punisher (Volume 4) series was not counted in the collected volumes. The series lasted until issue 228 after which it was restarted with The Punisher Vol.9, but also having the legacy numbering. Making issue 1 of that series also issue 229 and so forth.
