SynopsisIn the penultimate chapter in Alan Burnett's epic, Batman must retrieve the lost Superman! Plus, a surprise appearance by Highfather! But why is he with Superman? PlotBekka and Batman escape the Parademons, but when Batman learns that Bekka's power is making men fall in love with her, he uses his willpower to attempt to overcome his lust but Bekka leaves before he can prove himself. Batman then finds Scarecrow being totured by Clot, and rescues the villain. Darkseid and Desaad use Superman to get the High Father's Staff from the Source Wall, then Desaad's uses the staff power to send Superman beyond the Source Wall to be trapped in the Source. Then Bekka takes a shot at Dasaad, the staff protects him and he uses the new power to freeze Tartaros almost killing Bekka, who is rescued by Batman. In Source, Superman wakes to all his friends and enemies around him, he then realizes it is a dream, and they are all replaced by the High Father, who tells the hero that was his life and now it is over.
