Edited by Jim Shooter. Adapting the Harold Livingston screenplay, based on a story by Alan Dean Foster (Splinter of the Mind's Eye and Black Hole) and series creator Gene Roddenberry. With Mr. Spock now aboard the Enterprise, the Vulcan assists Mr. Scott in balancing the engines to achieve warp drive to intercept the unidentified alien on course for Earth!
