"Spider-Man's Tangled Web" (2001-2003) was an anthology series with an overall theme. That theme was stories focusing on characters whose lives were affected by Spider-Man's actions in various ways. The title character himself often had peripheral roles in the plot. Several issues served as spotlights for various villains and supporting cast members. Others introduced one-shot characters.
The series was considered to be hit-and-miss in quality, while sales were typically underwhelming. It was cancelled to make way for Spectacular Spider-Man Vol 2.
