New Mutants past meet the New Mutants of the present! Things get even stranger when Magik’s sinister older brother emerges from the shadows. The New Mutants have travelled into the future (to the present) and, meeting their older counterparts, get questions answered from their future selves. Illyana Rasputin teleports back to the others with her brother, Mikhail in tow. He says he threw himself into the vortex of time to try to save his sister's life in the past, and he wants help. The present-day mutants confer: Sam Guthrie and Dani Moonstar decide the villainous Mikhail can't be trusted, and they attack. The older mutants nearly defeat their young versions, but a suddenly more powerful Karma decides to help Mikhail keep his family together. She possesses the older kids, and has Sunspot take out Sam. Only the younger Rahne is left, uneasily knowing she must oppose Mikhail alone.
