The Metal Men perform a demonstration for a college crowd, but questions about Doc Magnus bring silence—he was brainwashed by Karnia's dictator and later launched his own terror campaign before being captured by the CIA and confined to a mental health facility. As part of his therapy, Magnus is moved to a factory complex and tasked with creating the ultimate Metal Man for the U.S. government. Meanwhile, the Metal Men face discrimination when refused hotel lodging due to their non-human status, then intervene when an armed former employee robs the hotel to feed his family after losing his job in the economic downturn.
