In her civilian identity as fashion model Tina Platt, Platinum joins the other Metal Men on a film production at the newly acquired Magna Studios. When the actor playing the film's monster is murdered and his killer takes his place to genuinely abduct Platt during filming, the Metal Men must search for her while maintaining their secret identities under the watchful eye of suspicious homicide detective Lieutenant McDonald. Platt's abductor reveals himself to be Hugo Stark, a hideously scarred former stuntman who has been secretly living in the abandoned studio and became overwhelmed by loneliness upon seeing her.
