Platinum invites Doc Magnus to a stadium dedication ceremony, but he declines to investigate a meteor landing with the beautiful Dr. Garin instead. At the Metaldome Sports Stadium, the Metal Men's exhibition race is interrupted by an enormous golden robot called Torgola that begins devouring metal structures. When the team attacks, their strongest efforts barely slow the monster, and they discover Torgola has consumed far more mass than should be possible. Following the mystery of where all the metal is going, the Metal Men are transported to an alien world where they learn the truth about Torgola's origins and mission.
