The web-slinger and Gargoyle are back in New York City following their Asgardian adventure in Defenders 109. After rescuing an elderly lady from a group of thieves in Central Park, the two heroes go their separate ways into separate adventures. Gargoyle tries to bring peace to that same elderly lady who is suffering from depression, while Spider-Man and Aunt May search for a dejected Nathan Lubensky. For both the wall-crawler and Isaac Christians, it's going to take more than their super-powers to produce a pair of happy endings.
