When Iron Man is injured by terrorists, his armor begins an experimental fail-safe designed to upload Tony Stark's mind and personality into the Iron Man armor to preserve himself even after death. This rogue armor now believes itself to be Tony Stark even though his dying body was found and he is being kept alive in a hospital. Worse yet, a virus has been uploaded into the armor's systems making this rogue armor a danger to the general public.
