The Silencer returns to stop Clint and Bobbi's investigation into Cross Tech. Guest-starring the Sky-Cycle, Hawkeye's sweet flying ride! Despondent after his girlfriend's betrayal, Hawkeye spends 42 hours in an abandoned subway tunnel, aiming at, but missing, the bullseye of a concrete target. Exhausted, Hawkeye loses consciousness. A gang of street toughs attack, and beat Hawkeye's unconscious form. Hawkeye recovers, and subdues the gang. Hawkeye returns to his empty apartment, to find Mockingbird waiting for him. Mockingbird invites Hawkeye back to her place. Mockingbird reveals her secret identity, and her origin. Barbara Morse, a biologist, was recruited to work on yet another attempt to recreate the super-solider serum, which had yielded Captain America. Morse signed on with S.H.I.E.L.D., and became a field agent. Morse failed at her first field assignment, to recruit Ka-Zar for S.H.I.E.L.D. Morse took on the costumed guise of the Huntress, to root out corruption within S.H.I.E.L.D. Branded a traitor, Morse adopted the costumed guise of the Mockingbird, and presented her evidence to the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nicholas Fury. After recovering from several gunshots, Mockingbird turned down a position with S.H.I.E.L.D., to go solo. Hawkeye falls asleep during Mockingbird's narrative. Mockingbird departs to pick up supplies to mend Hawkeye's costume. The Silencer enters Mockingbird's loft, to assassinate Hawkeye. After a brief tussle, the Silencer gets the drop on Hawkeye. Mockingbird saves Hawkeye's life. The Silencer flees. Hawkeye, with Mockingbird, calls on Jorge Latham for information, concerning weapons manufacturing at Cross Technological Enterprises. Hawkeye, with Mockingbird, breaks into Cross Technological Enterprises, to rifle through their files. The Silencer attacks. Hawkeye's battle with the Silencer carries them out the window, and onto Hawkeye's hovering sky-cycle. Hawkeye, and the Silencer, fall off the cycle. Hawkeye falls into a smoke stack, but the Silencer manages to land on the edge. Hawkeye uses suction cup arrows to climb out of the smoke stack, then drags the Silencer down into the shaft.
