Part of the Marvel Knights imprint, with filmmaker Kevin Smith as writer and artist Joe Quesada at the series' helm. With issue #26, Brian Michael Bendis took over the series, which lasted until issue #81, making it one of the longest-running and most critically acclaimed runs for any writer on the character. After issue #119, the series reverted to its original numbering of volume 1 with issue #500. The volume ended at issue #512. At this point the series shifted focus to Black Panther, retitling the series Black Panther: Man Without Fear. Daredevil's adventures continued with Daredevil Vol. 3.
