This series reprinted the Chris Claremont/Dave Cockrum/John Byrne run of The X-Men/The Uncanny X-Men (The original series renamed from The X-Men to The Uncanny X-Men after Classic X-Men renamed to X-Men Classic). Additionally, early issues of the series also included additional panels to contextualize the stories with events occurring in Marvel continuity at the time, as well as back-up stories giving a "behind-the-scenes" look into the main story.
