Continued from Captain America v1 and Captain America v5. After issue 620 of the previous volume, the title was split up into two titles, Captain America and Bucky, and this new series with a new number 1 was also launched by Ed Brubaker, writer of the previous volume of Captain America, and artist Steve McNiven. This series lasted 19 issues and marked Ed Brubaker's last stories. It was relaunched in the Marvel NOW! event as Captain America Volume 7.
