Betty and Veronica try to have an afternoon of fun at the beach and still protect their picnic lunch. Learning from Veronica that Betty swims better when she's angry, Coach Clayton conspires with Veronica, Archie and Jughead to make Betty furious before the big Swim Meet. Archie and Jughead convince a new kid in the neighborhood to play with their baseball team after seeing the skill the teen demonstrates. Tired of Veronica monopolizing the male attention because of her name and status, Betty talks her into going on an environmental hike where nobody will know who she is.
