When Veronica hears that Betty and Archie plan to run together on the Woodland Nature Trail, she invites herself along to make sure all they do is run. Betty gives Veronica a demonstration on how comparison shopping can reduce one's food bill. Betty is teaching a photography class to elementary school girls and Veronica wants to see the results of her work. Veronica doubts Betty's claim that a jade necklace she wears is a good luck charm until circumstances seem to provide proof.
