This issue opens up with Beast in a prison cell. Magneto breaks into his cell and attempts to persuade Beast to join him. Beast tells him no and even though he has the opportunity to escape he remains in his cell and professes justice will be served. In court despite grand arguments by his lawyer Beast is denied bail. As the X-Men are in the War Room they hear about a malfunction with nuclear missiles. They attempt to help fix the malfunction but they have to track down and disarm the missiles mid flight. They return to the Xaiver Mansion only to hear Magneto broke into a chemical plant. The X-Men attempt to stop Magneto but the issue ends with things not looking good for the X-Men.
