SynopsisWolverine's 30th Anniversary Celebration starts off with a bang as the X-Men investigate some mysterious murders in New York City. All the victims seem to have been cut to pieces by blades? Adamantium blades! But if Wolverine didn't murder these people...then who did?! Plot SummaryThe X-Men (Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Storm, Marvel Girl and Bishop) are in NY to find out who is responsible for the recent murders, where the victims have been killed with "Adamantium". In the last issue, while in a night club, Marvel Girl bumped into one of the waitresses and inadvertently sees memories of X-23 fighting with thugs. A fight ensues as the issue opens. Wolverine has been stabbed, but still manages to grab the escaping girl. She uses her foot claw to slice through his face and escapes. Nightcrawler teleports after her. The patrons of the club are panicking and about to stampede before Marvel Girl makes them think she and the other X-Men are police officers and calms them down. On a nearby rooftop, X-23 is tracking the Bacchae when Kurt suddenly appears. She attempts to fight him, but quickly realizes he's a teleporter. The other X-Men arrive, and Storm levitates the girl while Rachel puts her to sleep and reads her mind. They leave Logan to guard X-23, and attack Sabine and the Bacchae across the street. The girl awakes and Logan begins to question her. He discovers that she knows he's Weapon X and she tells him her name is X-23. He asks for information on Hydra, but she claims not to know anything about that and instead is just looking for her missing friend. Nightcrawler remarks that she looks very similar to Wolverine, and X-23 demands that he leave and he does. The other X-Men return with the friend in tow, and the girl seems to relax. Suddenly Geech appears and attacks the girl and the other X-Men. He says he's getting revenge for the kidnapping of Don Parisi's daughter. The X-Men are barely able to subdue him before Kurt reappears with the missing girl. She demands Geech leave our heroes alone. Later, Wolverine is debriefing with Sage. She promises to help X-23 legally. She signs off and reveals that Sebastian Shaw has returned and he's rebuilding the Hellfire Club, and wants her to return.
