THE BATMAN AND ROBIN ADVENTURES: SUB-ZERO #1

Official adaptation of the DCAU home video animated movie Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero. NOTE: Although the film is titled Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero, the adaptation is titled The Batman and Robin Adventures: Sub-Zero. This is due to series focus on "the dynamic duo" of Batman and Robin. Also, the events of this adventure take place between The Batman and Robin Adventures and Batman: Gotham Adventures as Bruce Wayne deduces that Batgirl is Barbara Gordon. PLOT: Victor Fries has found peace in the Arctic Circle, with a pair of polar bears and an Inuit boy. His wife Nora is still encased, in suspended animation to remit her illness. Unfortunately, a submarine on an exploration mission surfaces through the ice into his cave and destroys Nora's protective capsule. Fries then returns to Gotham, where he tracks down a former colleague to help him find a cure. The only possible cure involves a transplant. Fries and his colleague identify the potential donor as Barbara Gordon! Fries kidnaps Barbara, involving not only her father, Commissioner Gordon, Bullock and Montoya, but Dick Grayson as Robin as well and, ultimately, The Dark Knight.
