It's Ken's first interaction with other paranormals, but they are not the friendly kind. When he barely survives the encounter he discovers that the strength of the Star Brand's power depends on his own confidence and will power.
Ken continues to test his powers with Myron. They reminisce over his origin once again.
He picks up Duck and they sleep together. Then Barb shows up and Duck sneaks out the back. Barb is worried about how he seems closed off to her recently. She leaves and he thinks it all worked out, but then he realizes she saw a picture of Debbie in her underwear. Later he finds out she's seeing someone else too.
Ken thinks about offering his services to the government, but can't figure out how to contact anybody without making a scene.
He comes into contact with some other paranormals who escaped from an insane asylum, but their psychic powers are able to get him to lose control of his powers. They beat him down and run away. Ken is embarrassed but unhurt.
