Thor and the Silver Surfer travel into the past to find out what led to Asgard’s demise! The Silver Surfer is visiting the Hawaiian island of Kahoolawe when a pair of Ice Giants attack. He is able to stop them and travels to find Thor for answers as to how they got there. He approaches Avengers Mansion and meets with Thor. Thor informs him that Asgard has been destroyed and the Surfer agrees to help him find out who is responsible. They start their travel through time but an unknown force stops them, leaving them in another realm. They are attacked by some sluglike creatures and the Surfer is captured. The captor is Millenius and he needs the Silver Surfer's Power Cosmic to free himself from his banishment. He believes that all mortals should be killed which is why he was banished from Asgard in the first place. Thor battles with Millenius while a machine siphons the Power Cosmic from the Surfer to create a portal. The Surfer manages to escape but he cannot close the portal. He asks Thor to help close the portal while he engages with Millenius. Thor successfully closes the portal and he and the Surfer team up on Millenius. They cannot defeat him, but they can momentarily stop him long enough to travel to their own realm. Exhausted, Thor and the Surfer part ways.
