MIRACLE MAN

After being hired by Thorpe & Porter, in 1965 Mick Anglo sought to produce a title in the vein of his previous biggest success, Marvelman. Having already produced Super Hombre for Editorial Ferma in 1958 to sell to the Spanish market, Anglo began reprinting those strips in English as Miracle Man. The title lasted 13 issues, a much shorter run than its Spanish counterpart's 68 issues. NB: Despite stories to the contrary, the Miracle Man/Super Hombre strips were not simple retouched Marvelman strips. Though the characters had similar powers, the stories were not duplicates of Anglo's previously published UK work.
