With Karnak's complex destroyed, the Metal Men await extraction from Karnia with the critically damaged Platinum. Mr. Conan reveals that Doc Magnus escaped and has committed treason against the United States. Using Platinum's condition as bait in a media campaign to draw Magnus out of hiding, Conan learns that Magnus has stolen a hydrogen bomb and is threatening to detonate it on an American city unless paid one billion dollars. The Metal Men are sent to the Superstition Mountains to stop him, facing deadly traps and obstacles as they scale a treacherous peak to reach their former creator.
