Welcome back to the mighty Megazine, inside of which you’ll find the last instalments of both current Judge Dredd thriller Halfway House (though not the last we’ll be seeing of Joe Fargo, who’ll be playing a prominent role in this year’s mega-epic The Oubliette, which will be running across both 2000 AD and the Meg in the summer) and Armitage: Drokk the Ripper. In addition to Megatropolis and Rok the World, we have a complete Tale From the Black Museumfrom Paul Starkey & Brett Parson, and the start of the apocalyptic final series of Department K by Ned Hartley & Mike Walters, the former also subjected to the Interrogation treatment alongside fellow writer Antony Johnston and debuting art-droid Peter Clinton (whose Future Shock appears in the prog on sale right now). Stock also delves into the first volume of Action: Before the Ban, the latest archival collection from the Treasury of British Comics that compiles the first handful of issues of the notorious anthology that pushed the envelope in terms of newsstand violence. JUDGE DREDD // HALFWAY HOUSE, Part TwoMega-City One, 2146 AD. This vast urban hell on the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America is home to over 200 million citizens, bordered by the irradiated Cursed Earth to the west and the toxic Black Atlantic to the east. Tensions run a knife-edge and crime is rampant. Stemming the tide of chaos are the Judges. Toughest of them all is Judge Dredd – he is the Law! MEGATROPOLIS II, Part FiveImagine a Mega-City One from an alternate timeline - less the gleaming metropolis of the twenty-second century but instead an art deco retro-future variation. Joe Rico is the one good cop in a police department riddled with corruption, and partnered with the young Amy Jara, they investigated a series of vigilante killings committed by a robot… ARMITAGE // DROKK THE RIPPER, Part FiveBrit-Cit, 2147 AD. While the UK equivalent of Mega-City One has its own Judge force, it’s retained its CID plainclothes division, of which Detective Inspector Armitage was one of its veteran officers. Now a consultant, who works on cold cases, Armitage hasn’t lost his surly demeanour and distrust of authority – and the department heads have no love for him either… TALES FROM THE BLACK MUSEUM // HIS N’ HEARSEMega-City One, 2148 AD. Deep in the heart of the Grand Hall of Justice lies the Black Museum, Justice Department’s permanent exhibition of the relics from bygone crimes. Whether it’s a notorious serial killer’s trophies or the weapons of the Dark Judges, the violent history of the Big Meg is laid bare here. Let undead guide Henry Dubble show you around… ROK THE WORLD // Chapter TwoDEPARTMENT K // …NO MOREMega-City One, 2148 AD. Justice Department has many divisions within it tasked with dealing with the various threats that face the metropolis. The mysterious Department K is a branch of Tek-Div, whose brief is to tackle interdimensional enemies that are seeking to break through the walls of reality. Young intern Afua recently had an encounter with one such entity…
