The Next Men have been arrested for the destruction of the Next Men Project Complex and the numerous dead during this destruction. They assist to their trial who seem already lost. Antonia Murcheson asks for help to Control who refuses.
Meanwhile, the mother of Danny and Chrissy had been brought in Washington by Control in order to join his daughter. In a argument, the woman tries to slap the little Chrissy but the little girl, possessed by Gillian, retorts. Gillian even takes control of Chrissy's mother and hurts her badly, throwing her in the walls.
In the white house, the president tells to Aldus Hilltop that he has decided to ask for a investigation about the Next Men and the project who create them. Aldus fears that his implication would be discovered but a few hours later, the president died of a heart attack.
At the same time, the Next Men are declared guilty.
