Divorce is tough for any teenager, but when your mother is a typical suburban soccer mom and your dad is a 300 foot tall, city trampling, battleship devouring monster things get even tougher. This is Duncan Rosenblatt's reality. His mom wants him to get into a good college, his dad wants him to go into the family business, namely conquering the earth and ascending to his rightful place as king of all monsters. Being the new kid at school isn't the easiest, especially when you're a 15-year-old, orange, half dragon. Duncan grapples with the fear and prejudice he encounters, all the while haunted by visions of the monster his father, the world-shaking monster known as Belloc, wants him to become.
