In a moment of truth, Rin and Nakaya, the innkeeper, venture at last into the Kobotoke checkpoint, where Rin hopes to gain safe passage into the neighboring region by posing as Nakaya's niece. The guards greet Nakaya like an old friend, but the checkpoint officials are the ones they need to convince...and they're the same people that sentenced Nakaya's last "long-lost relative" to a horrible death!
