Betty finds working in the toy department of a department store anything but fun and games. Betty has a recurring dream and asks one of her classmates to interpret it. Betty has to go to school before she can finish a mystery novel and spends the day obsessing over how the story might end. Betty is hired to babysit a chimpanzee.
