Still in deep space, Superman encounters Auron, the super powered clone of Guardian (first seen in Superman: The Legacy of Superman #1), who possesses some of Superman's DNA. Together they battle an alien malevolence, but Auron is felled by something far more insidious - something connected to Superman himself.
