There are a slew of murders in Los Angeles and the police believe each victim was an ultra that remained to stay out of the public's view. The Squad are told this information and stay alert for the killer. Meanwhile, the government wants the Squad to work for them but the Squad denies them. While at Forsa's housewarming party the ultra killer, NM-E, attacks. NM-E is able to kill every non-ultra in the house before the Squad is able to suitably attack. Forsa sends NM-E into a nearby aqueduct where the battle concludes. NM-E kills Forsa and knocks Starburst into a coma. Before D.J. Blast is killed by the monster, he tells Hardcase to take Starburst and to get away. Hardcase jumps in the air with Starburst in his arms when D.J. Burst sacrifices himself to destroy the monster. The Squad has died.
