Commonly known as the first comic, first published in the French part of Switzerland as 'Les Amours de Mr. Vieux Bois' in 1837. It was soon pirated in France and later translated into English in 1841, for the UK market, and in 1842 for the American market.
It is the first known booklet where pictures and text went together in panes to form a story that we now know as comics.
