Everyone learns that Sylthfarn, the Master Wizard, is dead! Having no reason left to impersonate him, Merleawe is relieved of her duties. But returning to normal life doesn't sit well with Mel. So on her school's break, she travels to the city where Sylthfarn was last seen, where she discovers the untimely cause of his demise--though his remains are nowhere to be found. Later, after Merleawe catches up with all the friends she left behind, she realizes that there may be a thing or two she can accomplish as a wizard in her own right...
