A Human named Elona becomes ensnared in one of Mantricker's nets, so he cuts her free. When she falls and sees him, she instantly falls inlove with him. Nothing that he can do can deter her affections from being poured into him.
She returns to her human village, where she begins to gossip about the gentlemanly qualities of the elf that she met. It is another thing that has improved human-elf relations, but her father suppresses her testimony and turns human-love sexual relations into a taboo on the world of two moons.
