Lieutenant Sammy Parker had seen no action at all - for he was in the Pay Corps and had spent most of his army career sitting behind a desk in a quiet office in Burma.
But now it was different. The Japanese were advancing, driving everything before them, so Sammy was on the run and fighting for his life. More and then - there was a bunch of soldiers depending on him too.
