A mysterious monster prowls the seas and oceans. French oceanographer Professor Aronnax, his assistant Conseil and Canadian harpooner Ned Land join an expedition to hunt down and destroy the menace. They leave New York aboard the United States Navy frigate Abraham Lincoln. After months of searching the frigate locates and attacks the monster, as a result of which Professor Aronnax, Conseil and Ned Land go overboard. The alleged monster is actually a futuristic submarine vessel. The men meet the mysterious Captain Nemo - the comander of the vessel known as the Nautilus.
