French series. Originally, C.O.P.S. is a role-playing game published by Asmodée whose futuristic police universe is now being adapted into a comic strip within the Neopolis Collection by Delcourt. Like the game, this totally independent project, scripted by Marc Sautriot and drawn by Antonio Sarchione, is in keeping with the spirit of American TV series. Complete stories in two volumes and in-depth intrigues over longer periods which, like the Impact Collection from the same publisher or other publications such as Haute Sécurité from Dupuis, confirm the growing influence of television soap operas US on the ninth Franco-Belgian art. A brief description of the universe of C.O.P.S., from the cover page, allows the authors to start this first story without going through a geopolitical introduction or a detailed set-up. The reader finds himself in an America which, too busy managing its wars around the world and having made the mistake of neglecting its internal problems, has lost control of one of its main regions. Starting from this basic postulate which is reminiscent of that of the excellent DMZ series, Marc Sautriot invites you to discover the daily life of the elite unit of the C.O.P.S. following the first steps of the new kid. If the police intrigue is entertaining despite an impression of slowness often inherent in this kind of set-up, the universe that surrounds it requires a little more attention. It therefore remains to be hoped that over the volumes this series will lift the veil on the origins of this secessionist movement, as well as on the functioning of the rest of the United States. Graphically, the drawing by Antonio Sarchione (Fédération) improves over the boards and offers great readability to the album. Supported by Lou's computer colorization, the Italian-born designer also ensures graphic unity with the game range based on the designs and other work done by Aleksi Briklot (game illustrator and Spawn Simonie). An eight-page bonus at the end of the album also allows you to contemplate some visual research and provides an overview of Erwan Le Saëc's work as a storyboarder. For his first album, Marc Sautriot delivers a round-the-clock police investigation in a style that takes up the codes of certain US television series. depth to this series. — Description from Comic Vine community (comicvine.gamespot.com · https://comicvine.gamespot.com/cops/4050-141518/).
