Angela has finally reached the island of Tinian, the huge "Coral Aircraft Carrier" that serves as a platform for a thousand B-29 flying Superfortresses taking off daily to crush Japanese cities under a relentless carpet of bombs... There, she meets Taaroa, her Hawaiian teammate, who is now flying in a Lockeed Ventura. Continuing her investigation into the causes of her sister Maureen's death, our heroine manages to meet Dora Dougherty, her sister's teammate, and question her about the circumstances of the strange accident that killed her.
